In 2013, Ps. Lizelle Calitz embarked on a heartfelt mission to nurture and educate young minds, founding the school initially as a small Day-Care and Grade R class. However, it wasn’t long before the growing demand from parents inspired her to expand the vision, and within a year, the school evolved into a fully registered Primary School, catering to learners up to Grade 7.

From the very beginning, our goal has been clear: to instill Godly values rooted in His Word, fostering not only strong individuals but also stronger families and, ultimately, a stronger nation.

Our journey began in a humble space, renting premises from the church. But as our student body grew, so did the need for a larger environment where children could flourish. In January 2020, we took a monumental step forward, relocating to our current, more expansive campus. Yet, the story doesn’t stop there—development remains ongoing, with every available resource dedicated to improving and expanding our facilities.

One of our ongoing challenges has been to balance affordability with quality. We strive to keep school fees as accessible as possible while maintaining a high standard of education in an environment that fosters growth and development. To aid in this, we established the Annual Development Fund, which allows us to continuously enhance our campus. Through this initiative, we’ve been able to develop better classrooms, build a soccer field, install pavilions, and construct netball courts—creating spaces where students can thrive both academically and physically.

As we look to the future, we remain deeply committed to our calling—to shape and influence the generations to come with purpose, passion, and faith.

Over the years, Bet-Shalom has expanded to meet the growing needs of our community. In 2020, we moved into our new premises, allowing us to offer more space and better facilities for our learners. As we continue to grow, our focus remains on keeping school fees affordable while ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of education.

At Bet-Shalom Christian School, our mission is clear: to provide a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where learners are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values they need to succeed in life. Established in 2013 by Ps. Lizelle Calitz, Bet-Shalom began as a humble day-care and quickly grew into a thriving primary school that now offers education to Grade 7.

Timeline Milestones: 2013 - School founded by Ps. Lizelle Calitz as a Day-Care up to Grade R. 2014 - Expanded to a Primary School up to Grade 7. 2015-2019 - Continued growth, renting premises from the church. Available until 17:00, our Aftercare service ensures that learners are well-cared for throughout the day.

Boarding Services

For families seeking a safe and supportive living environment during the school term, we offer boarding services for learners from Grade R to Grade 7. Our boarding house is designed to feel like a home away from home, where learners can focus on their studies, build strong relationships, and grow in their faith, all under the guidance of dedicated staff.

  • We adhere to a Bible-based Christian faith, guided by the following beliefs:
  • We believe in the authority of the Holy Scriptures (Old and New Testament) as the inspired Word of God, which serves as the ultimate guide for faith and life.
  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and was both fully God and fully man.
  • We believe that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and that salvation is available to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior, based on His atoning death and resurrection.
  • We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal reward of believers, and the eternal punishment of those who reject Christ.
